The Engineering Doctorate is a 4-year postgraduate degree, with an emphasis on research in a business context, with the aim of delivering senior research managers of the future.
Funding is available from EPSRC to support 2 categories of Eng.D students:

The Engineering Doctorate is funded by EPSRC through its CTA (Collaborative Training Account) award. EPSRC set specific criteria regarding those candidates eligible for funding, requiring candidates to have a relevant connection with the United Kingdom. A summary of the main points are as follows:
UK citizens and other EU nationalsThose candidates who have resided in the UK for three years immediately prior to the start date of the programme, including those residing wholly or mainly for the purposes of full time education, are eligible for support covering fees and maintenance.
EU nationalsThose candidates who have not resided in the UK for the 3 years prior to the start of the programme may be eligible for fees only support.
International studentsAre not usually eligible for fee or maintenance support unless they have a relevant connection with the UK. This connection being established if:
Candidates must have at least a second class B.Sc, M.Phys or M.Sci in Physics, or a B.Eng or M.Eng in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering, or a cognate topic. Candidates who have an appropriate M.Sc qualification may be exempted from some of coursework.
